7 Ways to Stay Grounded
Whether you are an energy healer, alternative health practitioner, or yoga teacher. One thing that I hear across the board, regardless of what healing modality you perform. Is that all of us are busy taking care of others, that we forget to take care of ourselves. If you spend any time in the personal development world, you will have heard this. However, we all need reminding now and then. "You can't pour from an empty cup."
Last night, I was blessed to have facilitated a Women's Circle with my dear friend Kimana Dawn. There were many yoga/pilates instructors, holistic nutritionists, and reiki practitioners in attendance. One of the things we discussed, was the ways in which we stay grounded and practice self-care. It was so helpful for me to discover new ways, because I find the energies super intense right now and my usual routine is not as effective. It is my hope that they help you as well. 🙏🏼
Top 7 Ways to Stay Grounded
1) Get Outside
Unanimously, all in attendance agreed that getting outside in Nature is the best way to ground. Whether you prefer to be by the ocean, in the mountains or in the forest. Time spent in Nature is the best way to recharge and reset.
2) Water Therapy
There was a Watsu therapist in attendance and she uses water to calm and reset the nervous system. Personally, I enjoy swimming as I find it calming. You could also take a bath or shower.
3) Movement
When we move away from using movement solely as a means to achieve a certain body weight or for appearance only, everything changes. From yoga to pilates to ecstatic dance. It is important to find a way to move your body that lights you up. Beyond the numerous health benefits, movement helps energy to flow and releases blockages in your energetic field.
4) Cold Plunge
The Wim Hof Method has taken the world by storm and many people are incorporating cold therapy into their self-care rituals. It took quite a bit of convincing for me to give this method a try. But now I am hooked.
5) Surround Yourself With Good People
We can all agree that surrounding yourself with people who accept you exactly as you are and who uplift you is good for the soul. If you ever have the opportunity, gathering in circle with like-minded people is extremely powerful.
6) Music
Music has the ability to transport you to another dimension and has been proven to have healing powers. Of course, the type of music you choose will vibe very differently in the body. Heavy metal will have an effect on your energetic frequency that is much different from relaxing piano music.
7) Meditate
Meditation quiets the mind so that you are able to attune to and hear the messages from divine source energy. This has a calming, grounding effect to your mind, body, and spirit.
