What is Reiki

Rei is the higher intelligence that created the Universe.  It is the wisdom that comes from God, Source, the Creator (whatever resonates for you).  This energy is all knowing and understands imbalances in the body and how to support them.

Ki is the life-force energy, prana, or Qi that flows through every single living thing - plants, animals, and people.

Combined, reiki is spiritual energy, the soul, universal life-force energy.  It is guided by each individual persons innate, subtle wisdom, to heal all aspects of the person - body, mind, and spirit.

Reiki is a safe, nonintrusive, gentle, hands on or off healing technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation.  The body has the ability to heal itself and to do so, relaxation is often beneficial.  Reiki works by channeling spiritual energy to treat physical ailments. It balances mind, body, and spirit and promotes a sense of well-being.

It is important that during a reiki session, you keep an open mind and allow your body to surrender and relax.  It is up to you to act upon the guidance you receive from within, as nobody knows your body better than YOU.  Always remember that reiki is a connection to the essence of life itself and always works for the highest good of the person receiving it, so it can do no harm.
