Why Cannabis Consumers Should Know About Omega 7's

To be honest, I have heard a lot about Omega 3, 6, and 9's.  I was surprised to learn about Omega 7.  Please keep in mind that all are healthy for you.  However, if you are a cannabis consumer like myself, you are well aware that a common side effect of consuming certain cannabis strains, is dry eyes, nose, and mouth (otherwise known as cottonmouth).  This can be rather annoying and uncomfortable and take away from your lovely elevated state.

This is one of the reasons I have been geeking out about Omega 7's.  They contribute to good hydration of mucous membranes (nasal, ocular, and oral).  Yah!  A win for us plant medicine consumers.

What exactly is Omega 7?
It is a monounsaturated fatty acid, instead of a polyunsaturated, like it's Omega 3 and 6 siblings.  It is considered a non-essential fatty acid, meaning that your body does produce it.  However, you want to make sure that your body is producing enough to access the health benefits.

How exactly do you get Omega 7's in your diet?
You can get from either food or supplements.  I recommend increasing your intake of foods such as olive oil, macadamia nut oil, avocados, and oily fish (salmon, anchovies).  Sea buckthorn is one of the richest sources.  You should consider supplementing with this, if you are a regular consumer.

I hope this make your next a sesh even more enjoyable.  🙏🏼
