My Top 5 Ways to Make Smoking a Cannabis Joint Healthier
Ok, now hear me out. I can hear y'all haters now. Smoking! Healthy? WTF! Please notice that I said healthier. Now let me say my piece in peace. 😘
My favourite way to consume cannabis, hands down, is by smoking a good ol' joint. What I love about smoking is that the onset of effects is within minutes. This makes it harder to consume too much, as is what often happens with edibles, especially if you are new to cannabis.
Another reason I love smoking, is that if I am trying a new strain, I can take a couple puffs and in a couple minutes feel the effects. This is great if I am experiencing anxiety, as it is fast relief. Also, if I am not enjoying the effects of this particular cultivar, I won't have to endure it for the next 1.5 to 3 hours.
With smoking, I know that I will be elevated, if consuming THC, for the next 1.5 to 3 hours. This makes my day easier to plan. I can also choose to have a couple quick puffs, a microdose, if I need to take the edge off a particular anxious day, but don't want to be overly high.
However, I am not oblivious to the ways in which smoking is not so healthy. I know myself, and don't plan on giving up my Mary Jane smoke any time soon, so I found a way to compromise with the "good" Gemini twin and found some easy ways to make my smoke healthier. (Pssst... I am a Gemini 😉).
My Top 5 Ways to Make Smoking a Cannabis Joint Healthier
1) I am a huge fans of MouthPeace by Moose Labs. You insert the activated carbon filter into the mouth piece, which removes the harsh throat burn or cough you can sometimes experience. When you remove the harshness, you enhance the flavour profile. At approx. $15 a pop, it doesn't break the bank.
2) I am picky about my cannabis, because I consume for medicinal purposes. Therefore, I choose quality over quantity and like my food, go for the healthiest I can find. A personal favourite of mine is My Supply Co. The flower is always spot on and the prices are lit. 🔥 Use the code 'ELEVATED' and get $20 off your first $50 purchase. I am also a huge fan of Pistol & Paris, and Simply Bare Organics.
3) Try using a hemp wick to light your joint. Made from hemp fibres and coated in beeswax, it is natural and burns at a lower temperature, which helps to preserve those precious terpenes, which is where a lot of the medicinal properties of your flower comes from.
4) When it comes to rolling papers, there is no shortage to choose from. Personally, I choose all natural hemp rolling papers. I like to keep things as close to Nature as possible. Some of my personal faves are RAW Rolling Papers (when I want the basics), or Elephant Rolling Papers (when I want something pretty).
5) In general, cannabis smokers take a larger puff, and hold the smoke longer than that of cigarette smokers, which increases carbon monoxide in the blood. Be mindful to take smaller puffs and to not hold the smoke in your mouth for an extended period of time.
